Over the last 300 years Russia's position as the only center of power in the world capable of preventing global domination by Europeans and Americans has given rise to an intense Russophobia in the Western world. During the Cold War Russia's great power status and great achievements prevented the European and American elites from portraying Russians as simply savages. But after the dissolution of the Soviet Union the Russophobia became so intense and so irrational that it now recalls Nazi propaganda about Russians and American propaganda about Native Americans. In other words, Russians are savages and it's no big deal if they're exterminated.
